One cup of green juice, extracted from any green leafy vegetable, diverse in equal size with carrot, celery, and red beet juices is superior for arthritis. A cup of fresh pineapple juice is also precious, as the enzyme bromelain in fresh pineapple juice reduces swelling and inflammation in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Capsaicin cream, made from a chemical derived from peppers, is a proven relief method for arthritis sufferers. Some also find they have better joint mobility and less pain if they take supplements containing glucosamine, chondroitin, and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). Others find these supplements don’t help, but they are worth trying, especially when approved by your physician.
An effective and common home remedy for arthritis is consuming garlic. Garlic has been known to alleviate the symptoms of swelling and inflammation for hundreds of years. There are many ways that you can consume garlic. You may purchase garlic pills at your local health food store, or you may choose to cook with garlic. Many people simply sprinkle garlic over their food once it is prepared. However you choose to ingest garlic, it is an important factor is reducing the pain that is associated with swelling in arthritis.
Potato water is another popular home remedy for those with arthritis. Soak sliced potatoes in water overnight and drink the juice. Another popular drink is apple cider vinegar. Drinking blackstrap molasses mixed with fruit juice is also a popular home remedy.
Another very popular home remedy for arthritis is Certo. You mix in one tablespoon full of Certo in a small glass of cranberry or grape juice. Drink two to three glasses a day. A number of people with arthritis swear by this.
Drink a tablespoon of fresh bathua leaf juice on an empty stomach for two or three months. Do not eat anything two hours prior to or after drinking the juice.
Eat 2-3 cloves of garlic everyday. Garlic has an anti-inflammatory property which has proved its effectiveness in the treatment of arthritis.
Cut a medium-sized potato into thin slices, without peeling the skin, and place the slices overnight in a large glass filled with cold water. Then drink this water in the morning on an empty stomach. It has proven results in arthritis pain relief.

Vitamin A and D play an important role in warding off infections, thereby preventing arthritis. Orange, papaya, carrot, whole milk and butter, all green leafy vegetables, tomatoes and raw bananas are rich in Vitamin A Vitamin D is chiefly obtained from exposing the skin to natural sunshine. Sunlight is an important factor in the prevention of arthritis.
Lime has also been found beneficial as a home remedy for arthritis. The citric acid found in lime is a solvent of uric acid which is the primary cause of some types of arthritis. The juice of one lime, diluted with water, may be taken once a day, preferably first thing in the morning.
Heat - whether it comes from a heating pad, electric blanket, hot water bottle, electric blanket, heat lamp, hot pack from a wash cloth or towel helps to drive out pain and stiffness. Be careful though as you do not want to apply heat to a hot swollen joint.
