Home Remedies for Piles
Piles is a very common ailment. Women have higher incidence than men. The reason behind it is not clearly known. It is more commonly seen in adolescent age group and aged persons who all seem to be more tensed.
In medical terminology, piles is known as hemorrhoids. Piles refers to a condition in which the veins around the anus or lower rectum are swollen and inflamed. It is the dilatation (varicosity) of the veins of anus. It appears as bluish coloured swellings due to stagnated blood. Piles arise due to the increased pressure of internal or external veins around the anal canal.
Effective Piles Home Remedies
Dry figs- soak three or four cleaned figs in hot water overnight. Consume the figs with the water in the morning for three to four weeks to have a relief from piles.
Radish- mix 100 mg of grated white radish with a teaspoon of honey or radish juice with a pinch of salt may be taken twice daily. It can also be ground into a paste in milk and applied over the inflamed area to relieve the pain and swelling.
Turnip- extract the juice of the leaves and mix with equal quantities of juices from watercress, spinach and carrots. This has been found to be useful in treating piles.
Coriander Seeds: Soak coriander seeds in water overnight and drink this solution next morning to cure piles. this will also stop passing of blood in the stools.
Cottonseeds: Crush some cottonseeds and apply on piles for overnight.
Mango Seeds: Powder dried mango seeds. Take 2 grams twice daily for bleeding piles.
Jamul fruit is an effective remedy for bleeding piles. The fruit should be taken with salt every morning during its season. Follow this every year and bleeding piles will be cured for life.
Mango seeds are regarded as an effective remedy for bleeding piles. The seeds should be dried, powdered and about 1-2 grams of the powder should be taken with honey.
White radish is also very beneficial home remedy for piles. Grated radish with honey relieves the condition. Well-grated white radish should be applied to inflamed pile masses to relieve pain and swelling.
A tea spoon of ginger juice mixed with lemon juice and honey when consumed daily with honey gives wonderful results in piles.
Certain yoga like sarvang asana, vipritakarani, hala asana and gomukh asana are very helpful in getting rid of piles.
Consuming juice of freshly derived karela leaves is a nice way to avoid piles when taken every morning.
The most important food home remedy for piles is dry figs. Three or four figs should be soaked overnight in water after cleaning them thoroughly in hot water. They should be taken first thing in the morning along with the water in which they were soaked. They should also be taken in the evening in similar manner. This treatment should be continued for three or four weeks. The tiny seeds of the fruit possess an excellent quality of stimulating peristaltic movements of intestines. This facilitates easy evacuation of faeces and keeps the alimentary canal clean. The pressure on the anus having thus been relieved, the hemorrhoids also get contracted.
